| Abstract: | :
A generalized method for variance estimation is developed in this paper. This me thod can be used to estimate not only the variance and covariance components but also a set of arbitrary parameters which are contained in the covariance matrix of observat ions. When it is applied to the parametric estimation of covariance function, in the situ ation of small sample, a good estimation for covariance function can be also obtained. The primal applications show that it is a very effective method. |
