Abstract:The temporal variation of shear stress acting over the bed of an evolving scour hole around a circular cylinder, under a clear water regime, is computed theoretically from the analysis of turbulent boundary layer by integrating the Navier-Stokes equations assuming an one seventh power velocity profile xityin the boundary layer.
