A MATHEMATICAL APPROACH TO PROBLEMS IN PHOTOGRAMMETRY |
| |
Abstract: | AbstractMany have tried their hands at one time or another at developing practical methods in respect to the solutions of the four fundamental problems viz., (1) space resection, (2) orientation of photograph in space and relative to one another, (3) space intersection, and (4) photogrammetric extension of surveys without ground control. The trouble so far has been that each worker had his own particular problem to solve and hence a completely general and comprehensive approach to the problems is lacking. In this paper these four fundamental problems are considered as essentially one of a system of linear transformations, from one set of coordinates to another, bearing in mind the existence of the significant correspondence between pairs of image points and points in space. |
