Abstract:After Jinghong Reservoir is impounded, the water stage will rise and a great amount of sediment will be dopsited in the river channel inevitably. The navigation condition at Simao Port, which is located about 80km away upstream from the dam, will be affected very likely. A one and tww dimensional linked mathematical model is used to simulate the characteristic of river bed deposition and its influence on the navigation conditions at Simao Port. According to the specific character of the Simao Port reach, a boundary fitted coordinate system is introduced to the model, and the formulae for calculating the roughness coefficient, sediment carrying capacity, bed load transport rates in two dimensional flow are modified.
