| Abstract: | The advantages of the clean,renewable hydropower include high reliability, lOw operating cost,and the ability to easily adjust to load changes.The upper Yangtze is the richest region POssessing enormous exploitable hydropower resources in the world.This paper describes the natural conditions of the upper Yangtze,the trend and prospect of upper Yangtze hydropower resources exploitation,and some major considerations associated with the world's largest Three Gorges Project and a series of giant hydropower stations being and to be constructed in upper Yangtze. |
