| Abstract: | The author has being involved in China's cartographic education and research more than forty years. This paper presents his retrospect and some academic thinking on them. Briefly stated are the historical evolution of cartography and its main features as well as the achievements of modern cartography. Finally, some key problems in the future booming of cartography are put forward. |
