Abstract: | We suggest that sharp velocity gradients will exist in fluid-like turbulence in nearly collisionless plasma. This implies effective quenching of Fermi acceleration of thermal particles, but the Fermi acceleration coefficient for relativistic particles remains essentially unchanged. |
