| Abstract: | Nematocysts of 7 species of medusae (3 Anthomedusae, 2 Narcomedusae, 1 Trachymedusae, 1 Limnomedusae) and 1 species of hydroid collected from Xiamen Harbour were first studied in China. 9 Kinds nematocysts are identified and described in detail with illustrations,of which anacrophore and acrophore are new records for nematocysts of Anthomedusae. In addition,the stimulations causing the discharge of nematocysts and the functions of nematocysts are discussed. |
