| Abstract: | From the comprehensive discussion of the geological meaning of reflecti-ons, seismic sequence analysis, seismic facies characteristics and basis of ac-ousticstratigraphic interpretation of profiles, this paper tries to explain syst-ematically acousticstratigraphic interpretation of shallow seismic acoustic profiles. The characteristics of four representative seismic facies from the East China sea shelf are summaried and their corresponding depositional facies and environments discussed.
As an example, the profiles from an area of the East China Sea are int-erpreted using acousticstratigraphy. It has been proved that acousticstratigra-phy has many advantages and a bright future. |
