摘    要:Linear wave equations for incompressible ideal homogeneous fluid are derived without making the assumptions of irrotation and hydrostatic pressure. The obtained equations are suitable for arbitrary bottom topography. Unified solutions of the existing waves in uniform-depth waters are found from those equations. Discussions about the above assumptions are made. Magnitude order of the error caused by the assumption of hydrostatic pressure is given.

Abstract:Linear wave equations for incompressible ideal homogeneous fluid are derived without making the assumptions of irrotation and hydrostatic pressure. The obtained equations are suitable for arbitrary bottom topography. Unified solutions of the existing waves in uniform-depth waters are found from those equations. Discussions about the above assumptions are made. Magnitude order of the error caused by the assumption of hydrostatic pressure is given.
