Abstract:
A procedure with a Bayesan approach for calculating upper limits to gravitational wave bursts from coincidence experiments with multiple detectors is described, where the detection efficiency for small signals is taken into consideration. The Bayesan approach to the upper limit estimation is confronted with the unified approach for the case when no events are observed in presence of a non-zero background.
