The effect of tributyltin oxide on growth of Mytilus edulis

Abstract:Juvenile Mytilus edulis were exposed to 0.1–10.0 μg TBTO l−1 in flowing raw seawater, and the shell length growth was measured in 24–48 h intervals for 7 days. Significant reductions in length growth rate occurred at ≥0.4 μg TBTO l−1. The relationship between TBTO concentration and growth response is approximately hyperbolic.
