| Abstract: | It is possible to solve the problem of localization of organic components in meteorites, by optical microscopy. As a matter of fact, autofluorescence of these organic constituents is obtained by excitation in blue light on polished, non-cemented and non-etched sections. From our observations, they are mostly circulat bodies of one micron or less, regularly distributed in the phyllitic matrix and which might have resulted from the condensation of hydrocarbons on inorganic particles. The fluorescence color and its intensity have permitted to make some hypothesis on the highest temperatures to which hydrocarbons have been subjected. |
