| Abstract: | The paper presents a overview of estuarine definitions and classifications in different research fields in the last 40a. From the point of geomorphology, physical geography, geology, biology et al., several definitions and classifications of estuaries which have been generally accepted are to be analyzed, and the developing trend of estuarine definitions and classification is to be discussed. |
