Abstract:Functional Food is development trend of food in the world.There are manykinds of algae in the ocean and inland waters. Algaes are the original producer oforganic compounds and natural accumulator of inorganic compounds, especiallythey contain many substances which are nutrient and highly biologically active.This summary reports material bases and the present situation of research inalgae functional foods including edible fibre,PUFA,vitamins, mineral and traceelements,amino acids and other active substances.
