| Abstract: | Sulfur content in coal beds largely depends on the peat-forming environments. According to the vertical change of sulfur content, three types can be divided in the coal bed 13. The study shows that the principal forms of sulfur are pyritic (67.4%) and organic (30.6%). Corre-lation analysis indicates that the total sulfur is closely related to pyritic sulfur (r=0.84). The density of sulfate in the medium of water and pH value are the most important factors influencing the sulfur content in coal beds. The study also shows that some kinds of composi-tions or compounds in the coal ash are related to the depositional environments. |
