硫酸盐化合物分子体积的加和性研究

摘    要:自然界中已发现的硫酸盐矿物主要是表生作用和热液后期的产物,均是在低温、低压条件下形成的。因此,对于硫酸盐化合物来说,由于其结晶条件相似,那么,各种离子(或离子团)在不同的硫酸盐化合物中是否占有大致相同的体积。

Abstract:During studying the relationship between the molecular volumes and chemical compositions of sulfate compounds, the addition law of molecular volume is found by the author of this paper as follow: Vmot=iPiVi+nVSO4+mVH2Owhere Vmol is the molecular volume of a given sulfate compound, Pi,n,m are the number of the i-th cation, the radical SO4 and water molecule in the molecular formula, respectively, Vi,VSO4 and VH2O are the volume occup ied by the i-th cation, radical SO4 and water molecule, respectively.The value of Vi,VSO4,and i>VH2O are given in Table 1.The comparison between the Vmol (calculated) and Vmol (meassured) of about 300 sulfate compounds shows that the relative deviation is equal to±1.9% for anhydrous sulfate, and for hydrous, the relative deviation is ±2.5%.The volumes occupied by H2O and SO4 are 24.40 Å3 and 52.08 Å3, respectively, the former means the volume of cube tangential to the sphere of water molecule with radius 1.45 A and the later means the volume occupied by four oxygen anions during the closest packing, whose radius is proposed 1.32 Å.The relationship between 3√vi and cation radius are discussed. There are the linear relations for the ⅠA. ⅡA. ⅡB, and ⅢA groups in the period table of elements, but there is a two-humped curve for the cations of the first transitional elements.The addition law of molecular volume of sulfate may be applied to studies of mineralogy and chemistry.
