| 摘 要： | 李四光教授对中国第四纪地质研究的贡献之大是空前的。其最主要的成绩为:(一)开创中国第四纪地质研究的新先河,打破当时中国第四纪地质研究的禁锢局面,提出中国有第四纪冰川冰期的新见解;(二)谱写中国第四纪地质的新篇章,发表一系列长江中下游山地冰川文章;(三)创建中国第四纪冰川的新学说,确立鄱阳、大姑、庐山、大理四次冰期序列;(四)组建中国第四纪地质新组织;(五)倡导中国第四纪地质为生产服务的新方向。

| Abstract: | Professor Li (1889-1971), an outstanding geologist in the world, had made great contributions to Quaternary reseaches of China. Firstly, he was one of the geologists and geographers who accepted Quaternary glacial geology and intruduced it into China. Teaching in Beijing University and working in the former Central Geological Survey Institute before liberation, he cultivated a number of Quaternary geologists who achieved a great deal later. Secondly, Li combined Quaternary geology theory with practices. During about half a century, he explored many, many places in China, especially studied Pleistocene glaciations in the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River, and published a lot of essays and works. Quaternary Glaciations in Lushan Area was his typical work in which he made out four glacial stages in China, respectively named Boyang, Dagu, Lushan and Dali, and compared them with the four classical glacial stages in Alps, named Gunz, Mindle, Riss and Wurm by A. Penck et al. Thirdly, after liberation, he exhorted Quaternary geologists to serve the production and construction. Under his guidance, water sources were discoverd in Quaternary deposit layers in North China plain. Li also organized an investigation team of Quaternary geology which consisted of some experts and professors to survey Pleistocene glaciations and corresponding deposits in west Sichuan, The team provided engineers with basic geologic data in selecting the site of Panzhihua Steel Mill. The facts demonstrated that Li's theories and practices played an active role in the socialist construction. Finally, in 1950's, Li and some other geologists established Quaternary Reseach Committee of China, which greatly promoted Quaternary reseaches of China. In addition, Li also discussed his theories with other geologists of different views. Through discussions, his theories were improved and accepted by more arid more Quaternary geologists. |
