Abstract:Based on the daily rainfall data from a meteorological observation station of Nan’ao from 1962 to 2020 and with the methods of correlation analysis,linear tendency,polynomial fitting and wavelet analysis,this work analyzes the climatological characteristics of hard rains in the county.The results are shown as follows.(1)The number of hard rain days in the county is well correlated with the annual hard rain amount and annual rain amount.The annual average number of hard rain days is 6.3 d,which increases at a rate of 0.013 d/year.The number of hard rain days varies periodically every 12 years.(2)The average intensity of hard rain in Nan’ao is 85.4 mm/d,the average contribution rate by hard rain is 39.5%,and the interannual variation is not significant.(3)86.6%of the hard rain and 94%of persistent hard rain happen in the raining season,with the probability of hard rain in the July-September raining season slightly higher than in the April-June raining season.The monthly variations of the number of hard rain days and number of persistent hard rains are both bimodal.June,July and August are the three summer months in which hard rain and persistent hard rain take place most frequently.(4)The initial day of hard rain mostly occurs in April and May and the last day of hard rain in August and September.The annually initial days(last days)of hard rain tend to appear earlier(later)than usual.The initial and last days of hard rain are somewhat correlated with the number of hard rain.
