摘    要:引言前人对本区震旦系的研究多侧重地层的划分和对比,而对其构造则重视不够。作者等虽多年来着重研究本区的构造形变史,但对震旦系构造特征的认识,长期以来只看到一些表面现象,而对其本质的认识则经历了一个不断反复和深化的过程。首先是震旦系和寒武系的接触关系,在豫西、华北乃至中国东部,它们之间都主要是假整合的平行接触关系,也就是在震旦纪末波状运动基础上,寒武纪海浸超覆。

Abstract:The results of this paper are only a part of a longer study concerning the deformational history of the whole Sungshan area.The late precambrian Sinian System of this area rests unconformably on the basement complex and separates from overlying Cambrian System by an unconformity that truncates the underlying folds. It shows intense Alpine-type deformation, whereas outside this area, the corresponding strata lie parallel with the Cambrian.There is a detachment along the plastic Puyu pellite. The faults parallel to the bottom and top of this formation are plainly normal faults, yet the structural relationship does not fit the standard dynamic setting of the normal fault. The upper unit became intensely folded and piled up into cascades, whereas the underlying unit Maanshan sandstone was only gently flexured and having not shared the same lateral movement. They are thus true slides. The most feasible way to explain the actual mechanism of the whole structure is to say that the sliding system was em-placed by down slope gliding of strata propelled by the force of gravity acting on its own mass, with local modifications due to the interply of pressure and frictional resistance.Observations, based on many years’ detailed mapping from the favorably preserved and beautifully exposed rock units, bring out a sinuous curve pattern of the structure. The apex of the main arc, which we called the Wufoshan arc, faces towards the south. It’s two wings presenting oppositely directed curvatures, called the reflex arcs. Symmetrical with respect to the two wings and the reflex ares, there is a belt of gently folded broad anticlines and synclines pointing to the apex of the main arc but dying out before reaching it. This approximately meridinal belt should be designated to as the backbone of the structure. The strata lying between the backbone and the main arc was slightly disturbed. The combination of all these structural features resembles an Epsilon structural system, which indicates an unequal horizontal movement of the concerned crustal parts. Yet it is not a normal type of Bpsilon structure as established by Prof. J. S. Lee. The main difference is that the Wufoshan arc is not composed of simple compressive folded belt. It is characterized by roughly parallel belts of tensile and compressive structures. The master faults are tenso-shearing to shearing character. The folds of the sliding system delineate a cascading movement from south to north. Therefore, it is a special type of Epsilon structural system.
