海南石碌铁矿的Sm-Nd法年龄及其意义

摘    要:本文根据最新测定的海南岛石碌铁矿 Sm-Nd 同位素年龄(841±20Ma)与石碌群第六层所含宏观藻类化石群代表的地质时代完全吻合,进一步肯定含铁矿的石碌群应归属青白口系。同位素测定结果还表明该铁矿的原始物质形成时间与成矿作用为同一时期,结合含矿层底部存在流纹质熔结凝灰岩、稀土模式及矿体产状等特征,推测该铁矿的铁质来源于近源海底火山喷发。

Sm-Nd AGE OF THE SHILU IRON ORE DEPOSITS ON HAINAN ISLAND AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE

Abstract:The geological age of the Shilu Iron ore Deposits on Hainan lsland has been disputed for long time.Some geologists placed it in Cambrain-Ordovician,the others in DevonianCarboniferous.However,Zhang Renjie and others (1988,1989) confirmed that bed 6 of the Shilu Group is of the Qingbaikou Period in age,as the discovery of macroscopic algal fossils occurring in the carbonaceous slate.In addition,the occurrence of tuff at the bottom of the main ore-bed and in ore-bearing bed shows that the ore-forming materials might come from the submarine eruption.The Sm-Nd isotopic data of the Shilu Iron Ore Deposite present in this work provide a further evidence to support above-mentioned concepts. Seven samples used in the isotopic analysis are the compact massive hematite ore,collected from the Beiyi and Fengshuxia ore-bodies of shilu Iron Mine,respectively.The chemical composition and REE contents of these samples are listed in Table 1 and 2,respectively.The REE distribution pattern of the iron ore complex (Fig.5,no.2—6) are almost the same as that of the rhyolitic ignimbrite (Fig 1,no.1). The data of Sm-Nd isotopic analysis of 7 samples from iron ore complex of Shilu Group are given in Table 3.From the data a Sm-Nd isochron age of the Shilu Iron Deposits is First obtained to be 841±20Ma.This age is in a agreement with that of Chuaria Circularis Walcott Tawuia dalensis Hofmann Assemblage,belonging to the Qingbaikou Period of Late Proterozoic.This isotopic age also strongly supports the concept on the ore-forming materials in Shilu Iron Deposits were derived from the nearby submarine volcanic eruption. The previous isotopic age data and their sig nificance are a also discussed in the paper.
