| Abstract: | Based on observations the basic characteristics in physical geography, biology and tourism about Tianchi Lake are described. in this paper. The observed results show that Tianchi is a weir-block lake formed by a river blockaded by landslide.The lake is surrounded by mountains and forests, the lake water is very clear andis not polluted, with a transparency of 12.66m; there are no aquatic plants butfishes; the lake, being gourd-shaped, has an area of o.88km, the maximum waterdepth being 82m. It rectifies the statement that Tianchi is the deepest lake with a maximum water depth of 480 m in China. |
