Abstract:The model is constructed based on the concepts of the character of thermal evolution of the sea ice cover thickness. The dynamics of the ice thickness and that of the melt water forming in the ice cover are considered at the stage of melting. The space limitation of the marine environment for the ice is taken into account both for the stage of the ice cover formation and for the stage of its melting. The model is investigated analytically. The parametric identification of the model and the estimation of its adequacy are performed based on sampling distributions of the ice cover thickness in the Sea of Japan.
