山西静乐县“静乐期”地层及大哺乳动物化石

摘    要:最近在山西静乐县贺丰村的静乐组地层中的发掘,丰富了贺丰动物群的种属。新发现的大哺乳动物化石包括两种食肉类:Nyctereutessinensis和Metailuruscf.major。新的发掘也为以往发现过的种属增加了更多有价值的材料。根据动物群分析和古地磁资料,笔者认为,贺丰动物群的时代为晚上新世早期,年代为3.0MaB.P.前后。静乐组的时代应与榆社麻则沟组时代相当。

STRATIGRAPHY AND LARGE MAMMALS OF THE "JINGLEAN"|STAGE, SHANXI, CHINA

Abstract:Jinglean" was created by C. C. Young as a stage name for the time interval during which the Jingle Red Clay was deposited. The stage was identified by using six species of mammals: Hipparion houfenense, Gazella blacki, Antilospira licenti.Cervus sp., Elephas sp., and Rhinocerotidae indet. found by Teilhard &; Young at Hefeng, Jingle, Shanxi in 1929. The age of the Jingle Red Clay was thought to be early Pliocene2] or middle Pliocene3]. The Jingle Formation was named by Pei et al. in 4] for the Jingle Red Clay. Since then, the above terms kaye been widely used in stratigraphic studies of North China, although opinions on the age of the formation and stage have varied. Prior to 1986 the only evidence available to resolve the age of the Hefeng fauna and the Jingle Formation was the fossil mammals. Unfortunately, their age significance was uncertain and required clarification. For that reason a field survey to enrich the Hefeng fauna was made by Xiaoyuan Zhou and the author in the summer of 1986. Macro-and micro-mammalian fossils were collected from four levels at Hefeng (loc. 86007 or loc. 1), Jingle. The present paper only deals with the macro-mammals from the sand layer7]. The other fossil mammals are listed in the table 1 of the paper and Zhou7]. See Zhou7] for the stratigraphy of the Hefeng section.
