Composition of eolian dust in southern Turkmenia,as in dust storm of January, 1968 |
| |
Abstract: | Granulometrically, the dust collected at Ashkhabad is much finer than the dust laid down by the storms at Jerusalem and elsewhere in the Middle East and is relatively high in calcium, magnesium, carbonate, and sesquioxides of iron. Its origin is believed to be local, Turkmenian-Iranian. -- V.P. Sokoloff. |
