| Abstract: | Upon consideration of published data and on the assumption that an alkalic-doleritic magma of the given composition may assimilate, for example, 10% of the ultrabasic substance of the mantle in one case and the same percentage of acidic substance of the crust in another, the calculated product should be either a basalt of the continental olivine-basaltic formation or a traprock of a young platform. -- V.P.
