Abstract:The results of simulation of terrestrial water balance components are analyzed. The simulation involved six alternative datasets on precipitation and four land surface models SWAP, NSIP, NOAH, and SSiB. The calculations have been carried out for the entire land surface (except for the Antarctic Continent) with one-degree step in the space grid and three-hour time step over 1982–1995. The extent of the influence of uncertainties in the specification of precipitation and the choice of the model on simulated water balance characteristics is revealed.
