| Abstract: | Three consequences of the existence of grains with metal-rich ice mantles are considered: (i) The production of metal-poor stars by expulsion of protostellar grains by radiation pressure during star formation. (ii) The effects of these expelled grains in reddening massive stars in an OB association. (iii) The production of the icy mantles on grains in OB associations. |
