| Abstract: | The accumulation and transfer of vanadium within the food chain has been investigated. Vanadium is taken up from the sea water in considerable quantity by phytoplankton which form the first step of the food chain and is transferred to the final consumer. Mammals (mice) fed on contaminated food (mussels) exhibited significant symptoms. |
