| Abstract: | The present paper studies the ecological features of species composition and distribution of number (density and biomass) of polychaeta, based on samples obtained from the subtidal zone in the Dongshah Bay, Fujian Province during May, 1988 to Feb., 1989. In all the 152 species belonging to 84 genera in 37 families identified in the survey area, the euryhaline warm-water(tropical and subtropieal) species has the dominance. The average density and biomass are 55 ind./m~2 and 4.4g/m~2 respectively. The distribution of the density and biomass were uneven and with distinct seasonal variation. The relationship between the distribution of polychaeta and the sedimentary environment were closely. In general, sediment feeders were distributed on silt-muddy bottom ; suspension feeders on sandy bottom. |
