Abstract:For the critical isolated structure located the expensive and precise equipment,the current design methods usually ignore the dynamic interaction between structure and equipment,meanwhile,the equipment is neglected to seismic design. Therefore,an optimization method of isolated structure-equipment composition systems is proposed to consider the interaction between the equipment and isolated structure as well as non-proportional damping effect. To meet the seismic requirements of equipment and isolated structures,multiple population genetic algorithm (MPGA)is adopted to identify the parameters of the isolated layer and the equipment. The proposed method is demonstrated in a typical isolated building in China. The optimal design of the isolated building can be obtained to reduce the inter-story drift ratio of the superstructure and the displacement of bearings. In addition,the equipment can reduce acceleration by 45% and is satisfied the seismic requirement. The study demonstrates that the proposed method can be used as a practical and efficient guide to designing isolated structure-equipment composition systems.
