| Abstract: | Dating of speleothems by TL and ESR is seriously complicated by radioactive disequilibria in the uranium series. This paper presents a simple method which takes into consideration the U-series disequilibria in the case where the annual dose is determined by gamma scintillation spectrometry. The method described is based on the concept of an appropriately defined ‘laboratory age’ and enables direct reading of the age of a sample from the curve (the GH plot) independently of the results of measurements. |
