摘    要:NDVI是研究大尺度生态学问题一个非常有用的指数,它可以为估价全球植被动态模型提供足够的信息.中国东北样带是全球变化研究中首选样带之一,本文分析了分辨率为1km×1km的NDVI年内季节变化的两个特征值:年均NDVI(NDVI-I)和NDVI年内极差(NDVI-MM)在样带内5种不同植被类型间的变化及其与年平均气温和降水量之间的相关关系.结果表明,NDVI具有明显的季节变化格局,NDVI-I和NDVI-MM由东到西均呈下降趋势,NDVI-I与降水量具有显著的线性回归关系,降水量能够解释NDVI-I和NDVI-MM空间变异的绝大部分.这一结果说明NDVI反映了植被沿环境梯度的时空变化格局,可用于监测样带植被对气候变化的响应.

INTRA-ANNUAL VARIABILITY OF NDVI AND ITS RELATION TO CLIMATE IN NORTHEAST CHINA TRANSECT

Abstract:The Northeast China Transect (NECT) is one of the proposed initial set of IGBP (International Geosphere-Biosphere Program) terrestrial transects, which is located in the mid latitude semi-arid region of northeastern China. NECT, as a research platform on the impacts of global changes on terrestrial ecosystems, represents the response of forest-steppe in mid-latitude to global changes. The responses to climatic change of vegetation, a fundamental component of terrestrial ecosystem, are the important issues of global change researches. This paper aims to examine the intra-annual variability of different characteristics of the NDVI curve and their relationship with climatic variables for five vegetation types, i.e. conifer-deciduous broad leaf mixed forests, sandy grasslands, meadow steppes, typical steppes and desert steppes from the east to the west along the NECT. The spatial variations of the two characteristics of NDVI, the integral of NDVI (NDVI-I) and the difference between the maximum and minimum NDVI (NDVI-MM), and the correlation between them and the temperature and precipitation were derived among the above five vegetation types. The NDVI values of all the five vegetation types exhibited a clear seasonal pattern across the year. NDVI-I and NDVI-MM tended to decrease from the east to the west along the NECT. A significant linear relationship between the NDVI-I and the precipitation along the NECT was found, and the precipitation explained the major fraction of the spatial variability of the NDVI-I, which further confirmed the dominant precipitation gradient along NECT. Compared with the grasslands and shrub-lands in northern America, the regression line of NDVI-I and mean annual precipitation in NECT was steeper, which may suggest NECT be more susceptible to climatic change. These results showed NDVI could reflect the spatiotemporal variability of vegetation along environmental gradients.
