Discovery of the Rehe fauna from Baiwan, Zhenping of Henan |

| Abstract: | This paper deals with the Rehe fauna found for the first time from the Baiwan section about 18km northwest of Zhenping, Henan.The fauna is characterized by conchostracans Eosestheria peipiaoensis, E.subelongata, E.elliptica, Diestheria aff.suboblonga, D.shangy-uanensis and insect Ephcmcropsis trisetalis, which are widely distributed in the Late Jurassic strata of Northeast China, Gansu, Anhui, Henan, and some other places.Therefore, the lower part of the Baiwan Formation containing these fossils and previously considered to be Lower Cretaceous may be Upper Jurassic in age. |
