Wave-turbulence instability in nonequilibrium hydrodynamics systems

Abstract:The problem of interaction between a large-scale wave and the small-scale wave-induced turbulence in non-equilibrium systems of hydrodynamic type is considered. The results of numerical analysis of the model of the turbulence-wave interaction in the hydrodynamic medium (an interior gravity wave + turbulence in a stratified fluid with a shear flow) and in plasma (an ion-sound wave + the Lengmuir turbulence) are presented. It is shown that significant mutual amplification of the wave and turbulence is possible at some values of the parameters.
