Abstract:Solar-terrestrial Hydrology study the cause and regular pattern of global hydrological change by hydrology and solar - terrestrial physics. Using this knowledge to predict flood and drought for large river basin had obtained many good verifications in China about 70 years. There are nine recommendations: (1) physical foundation of solar - terrestrial hydrology, (2) 22 - year cycle of great floods in Yangtze river and Huai river, (3) Solar activity and floods of Yellow river, (4) Double declining period of solar activity and serious serious drougths in North China, (5) Abnormal solar-terrestrial hydrological change in 17 century, (6) Short and middle time effects on storm and flood by solar radio burst and proton event with flares, (7) Regional change of floods between each side of Taiwan Straits 1955-1996, (8) Solar activity and maximum floods in the world, (9) Further outlook of solar - terrestrial hydrology and its applications. Combination of basic science with high scientific technology and practice can be born many interdisciplinary programs, the solar - terrestrial hydrology is an example.
Keywords:Solar-Terrestrial Hydrology  Flood/Drought prediction  Solar activity
