| Institution: | Michael B.J. Foster is a hydrogeologist with the Environmental Research Section of Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne, IL 60439). He received his doctorate from the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Minnesota, where he specialized in hydrogeology. He also has a master's degree in geohydrology from Rhodes University, South Africa, and a bachelor's degree in engineering geology and geotechnics from Portsmouth Polytechnic, U.K.;James E. Stefanov is a geologist at the Center for Environmental Restoration Systems at Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne, IL 60439). He received an M.S. in geology from Fort Hays State University in 1985 and a B.S. in geology from Illinois State University in 1982.;James Shinn received an M.S. in civil engineering from West Virginia University in 1975 and has more than 19 years experience in geotechnical engineering and in situ testing. Since 1982, he has been responsible for Applied Research Associate's (RR #1, Box 120-A, Waterman Rd., South Royalton, VT 05068) research programs involving the electric cone penetrometer. He serves on several ASTM committees involved with writing standards for cone penetrometer testing (CPT) and is currently writing the ASTM standard for seismic-CPT testing.;Robert Wilson has been a scientist at Applied Research Associates (RR #1, Box 120-A, Waterman Rd., South Royalton, VT 05068) since 1991, where he is responsible for instrumentation development, troubleshooting and repair, mobile laboratory operations, data analysis, and reporting.;Richard T. Bauder is head technician for Applied Research Associates (RR #7, Box 120-A, Waterman Rd., South Royalton, VT 05068) CPT truck operations. He conducts deep CPT penetrations for site characterizations in the Midwest. Previously he served in the United States Air Force, working at the Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency and in the 325th Civil Engineering Squadron. |
