| Abstract: | Advance in circulation studies of the South China Sea (SCS) in the past 50 years is reviewed with emphasis on recent observational results of general circulation in upper layers of the SCS. Special discussion is given to topics about the SCS Monsoon Jets, the SCS Warm Current, the sub-basin scale gyres in the southern basin, and circulations of the northeastern SCS. |
