| Abstract: | :
The method for precise height measurement across the estuary of Yangtse River with sight lines 6.5km and 9.3km in length is introduced in this paper. In order to overcome difficulties encountered in crossing the broad estuary, precise height measure-ment system and adjustable sighting mark with minimum divering angle are used. Eff ective measures are also adoped to minimize the effect of refraction on the results of heighting acress the estuary. The results of height measurements reached the expected level. More thah 96% of the measurements sets are up to the standard. The accuracy of final results is within the tolerance of river crossing height measurement established according to the specification of 1st-order leveling. |
