| Abstract: | The rare Chinese characters which met in construction and application of geographic database are discussed and studied completely in this paper,and the difficult problem in digital map production and use for a long period of time is resolved. Rare Chinese characters on the maps can be stored,retrieved and displayed properly and conviently in computer environment nowadays. |
