摘    要:从地球深部地幔流动引起的地质作用出发,结合裂谷的发展演化规律,认为地幔向东(或南东)的蠕散和流动促使亚洲大陆边缘地壳拉伸、变薄以致破裂,由大陆裂谷发展至弧后裂谷,形成西太平洋边缘海盆。最后提出边缘海盆发展演化的4个阶段,即:新生阶段(郯庐裂谷系)、幼年阶段(冲绳海槽)、青壮年阶段(日本海)和成熟阶段(南海)。

Abstract:There exist in the western Pacific more than 75% marginal basins of the world. These basins are characterized by high heat flow values, plus gravitational anomaly, thinned crust, the belt of field anomaly and violent volcano and earthquake movement, which is compactly connected with deep mantle movement. All traces show that the formation of the basin is controlled by the geological process in the deep earth. The geological processes of the deep earth, particularly mantle movement, decide evolution and variation of lithosphere. The formation of the marginal basins in the western Pacific is connected with the deep mantle movement. Its way of expansion shows some unification. The expansion age is mainly in the late Oligocene to early Miocene. The mantle flow is dynamics of the formation of the marginal basins in the western Pacific. The formation of the marginal basins is controlled by the mantle flow. Research shows that the direction of the mantle flow is from Asia continent to marginal sea.Based on the recognition that the mantle flow from the deep earth results in geological process,together with the evolution law of the rift,this paper reaches the following conclusion. It is the mantle creeping or flowing to the east(or the southeast)that makes the crusts of marginal basins in Asian continental margin extend,thin and rift,completing the process from continental rift, back-arc rift and marginal basins in the western Pacific. Finally,four evolution stages of the said basins are summed up, namely,the newborn stage,the childhood stage,the young stage,and the mature stage. In different evolution stages, the characteristics of these basins are very different, for example crustal structure, heat flow values, gravitational anomaly, and volcano and earthquake movement etc. The newborn stage is the developmental stage of continental rift. During the newborn stage when the continental margin begins to extend, the heat flow values are higher than that of continents, and crustal thickness is slightly getting thin, but the crust itself still belongs to continental one as the case of Tanlu Rift system. The childhood stage is the middle stage between continental rift and back-arc rift. It is during this stage that the continental margin extends violently, heat flow values are very high, and crustal thickness becomes thin obviously. The crust of this stage belongs to transitional one with strong volcano and earthquake movement as the case of the Okinawa Trough. The young stage is the developmental stage of back-arc rift when the continental margin extends to its climax, the heat flow values are very high, and the crustal thickness is rather thin. During this stage, tectonic movement is steady and the crust belongs to oceanic one as the case of modern Japan Sea. The mature stage is the mature period of back-arc rift, whose characteristics are that the continental margin stops extending and the basin begins to contract, and the heat flow values approach to be normal. Tectonic movement is also weak during this stage as the case shown in the South China Sea.
