| Abstract: | The extinction of stars with circumstellar dust shell is composed of two parts, i.e. interstellar extinction Avi and circumstellar extinction or Avc. A method to derive Avc using the spectral energy distribution (from UV to far infrared) is presented, on the assumptions: (1) The infrared radiation is reradiated from circumstellar dust grains, after they absorbed the UV and/or optical photons from the underlying stars. (2) The dust shell is spherically symmetric. This method is available for the stars with temperatures hotter than 3500 K, i.e. earlier than Mo. |
