Abstract:In this paper, the characteristics of atmospheric heavy metal deposition (dry and wet deposition) in a typical solid waste area of eastern Zhejiang were studied and, on such a basis, the impact degree of dry and wet atmospheric deposition on content of heavy metals in soils was discussed in detail, and the variation rate of heavy metals in soils of the study area was predicted through mathematical model construction. The results show that the values of cadmium, copper, lead, zinc, nickel and other heavy metals in both dry and wet atmospheric depositions are much higher than average values of Zhejiang Province and other standard values. Moreover, the deposition fluxes of heavy metals are all at high levels in the whole province, especially for copper and zinc. The annual deposition fluxes are respectively 7108g/hm2 and 11420g/hm2. It is predicted that the content of heavy metals in soils could increase rapidly due to the impact of the dry and wet atmospheric deposition, and the increasing amounts of copper, zinc, cadmium and lead reach respectively 3426ng/g, 5819 ng/g, 6.50ng/g, and 582ng/g. In addition, the increasing rates of heavy metals are great in soils of the study area. The annual increasing rates of copper, lead and zinc have all reached 0.5% or more.
