Abstract: | We discuss the prospects for direct measurements of nucleosynthesis yields of electron capture decay radioactive nuclei from supernovae, by detecting the characteristic K X-rays of the daughters. Several isotopes in galactic supernova remnants and SN 1987A appear to be detectable now or in the near future. Precise measurements of these nuclear yields, mostly achievable no other way, would greatly constrain nucleosynthesis theory. |
