热带大尺度大气运动的多时态特征

摘    要:本文采用多时间尺度方法分析热带大气的大尺度运动,得到了三个阶段的运动性质。结果表明,热带大尺度大气运动与中纬度大尺度大气运动一样,具有双适应现象,即第一阶段由于重力波频散,产生了地转适应;第二阶段由于长波频散,产生了位涡适应。 同时指出,运动的三个阶段的演变过程,可以统一为位势涡度适应过程,这是一种非线性过程,而地转适应是位涡适应的初级阶段。

Abstract:In this paper, using the method of multi-time scale, the large-scale motion in the tropics is studied.The characteristics of motion in three stages are obtained. The results show that the large-scale motion in the tropical atmosphere, similar to that in the middle and high latitudes, has two kinds of adjustment phenomenons, i. e. for the first stage, as the dispersion of the gravity wave is very quick there occurs the geostrophic adjustment, for the second stage,as the dispersion ot the longwave is slower there occurs the adjustment of potential vorticity.We suggest that the evolution process in the three stages of the tropical atmospheric large-scale motion can be regarded as the ovelam adjustment process of potential vorticity. It is a kind of non-linear process with the geostrophic adjustment process acting as its primary stage.
