| Abstract: | The focal points of this paper are put on the introduction to the basic funding situation, the priority research areas and the main research activities on the marine science in the West. Some characteristics of its present marine science research were briefly analysed. In the end, the author also proposes a list of the priority funding areas of the marine science in the begining of 21st century in China. |
