| Abstract: | In this paper, described are the present situation of large-scale openpit mining slopes in China and the system engineering method to regulate unstable slopes, i.e., based upon in-situ monitoring to assess the stability of a slope first and then, if necessary, to supply temporary reinforcement stage by stage and finally to regulate it permanently. In addition the paper summarizes the affecting factors to cause local landslip, the technique to determine the sliding block boundaries and the comprehensive measure to regulate the block. |
