Abstract:Analyses of water flowing through coquina showed exclusion of atmospheric CO2 and supersaturation in respect to calcite and hydroxyapatite. Extensive populations growing on the walls and benefiting from these nutrients included mainly blue-green algae, green algae and diatoms.
