Abstract:A study of Mean Sea Level (MSL) determination in the Aegean Sea is carried out. First, MSL values have been computed at a number of tide gauge stations. Then, Sea Surface Heights (SSHs) have been determined based on GEOSAT altimeter data of Geodetic Mission (GM). The computed SSHs were fitted to the tide gauge MSL values using a 4-parameters model. The best fitting agreement reached the level of 5cm, when GPM98A geopotential model was used as a reference surface.
