LIVE-BED SCOUR IN LONG CONTRACTIONS |

| Abstract: | This paper presents a simple analytical model, developed using the energy and continuity equations,for the computation of the live-bed scour depth in long contractions. The model agrees satisfactorily with experimental data. Equations previously proposed in the literature for estimation of the equilibrium scour depth in long contractions are compared with experimental data. The comparison indicates that the equation given by Lim is the best predictor among those examined. |
